Oikocredit's social and environmental impact

This summer, we released our annual Social & Environmental Performance Report. Highlights include Oikocredit's progress in outreach to women and growth in the number of households with improved access to energy. This newsletter also includes an interview on our impact with Ging Ledesma, Director of Investor Relations and Social Performance. In other news, Eugene Ellmen, National Director for Canada & US, discusses upcoming changes to Oikocredit's operations in Canada.

 

Highlights of our social and environmental performance

One of Oikocredit's greatest areas of impact is womens' empowerment. Nearly 90% of clients reached by Oikocredit's microfinance partners are women, compared with the sector average of 70%.

Oikocredit facts & figures

Our data for the second quarter of 2018 includes capital outstanding, the total number of partners and countries where we invest, as well as an overview of our funding by type, region and sector. The figures also include estimates of households with access to clean energy and carbon emission reductions.
