Oikocredit surpasses € 1 billion development financing milestone in 2016

Spring 2017 marks a particularly exciting time for Oikocredit, with the release of our 2016 results in March and the arrival of our new managing director Thos Gieskes in April. This edition includes information on our annual financial results, an interview with Thos, and a feature on our Kyrgyzstani partner Kompanion Bank, which supports local farmers and promotes sustainable agriculture.

Events in Toronto and Vancouver explore sustainable development

The Oikocredit Canada Support Association invites everyone to attend two upcoming events in Toronto and Vancouver.

On Tuesday May 16, in Toronto, we ask whether it is really possible to eliminate extreme poverty in the world by 2030, as pledged by UN Sustainable Development Goal #1.

And on Tuesday May 30, in Vancouver, we take a broader look at the Goals, and ask what it will take to get business and investment to the table.

Oikocredit at Toronto Fair Trade Show

On May 13 and 14, visit our booth at the Fair Trade Show, the largest exhibit dedicated to fair trade and social business in Canada. We'll be highlighting our partnership with Kindred Credit Union, and providing information on the Oikocredit Global Impact GIC.
