Oikocredit’s Managing Board and Supervisory Board have announced an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to be held with its cooperative members on Friday, 14 October 2022. There will also be a Members’ Meeting on Thursday, 13 October 2022.

The main purpose of this EGM is to explain and put to a vote proposed amendments to the Articles of Association allowing the cooperative to introduce a new capital-raising model. The Members’ Meeting will provide an update on the new model and prepare members for the EGM and the decisions that will take place.

Oikocredit has reviewed its capital-raising model and seeks to make it more resilient in the face of evolving financial markets regulations, particularly in the European Union. The new model is expected to increase transparency for investors while reducing complexity and regulatory risk for Oikocredit.

Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted or eased in numerous countries around the world. In this light, the Managing Board invited member representatives to attend the EGM in person in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

At the same time, member representatives who are not able to attend in person are invited to participate online through web-based conferencing. This hybrid meeting will ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to be involved. The voting will take place electronically, both by physical and online participants.

The meeting is open to representatives of approximately 545 member organisations of the Oikocredit International cooperative – Oikocredit (EDCS) U.A.. Formal notice of the EGM's convention has been sent to member organisations via mail and a members’ email newsletter. Member representatives can send an email to agm@oikocredit.org in case they have any questions regarding the EGM.
