Karl Braun, Chair of Oikocredit Canada, reflects on the challenges faced in 2020 and outlines the opportunities and strategy for 2021. The impacts of the pandemic have been profound. As a Support Association, like others we have had to quickly pivot to virtual options to solidify and build our OCSA community. As we move into 2021, the second year of the global pandemic, our strategic emphasis takes us on a bold path to investigate the potential for a retail impact investing product, and to keeping our support base – people like you – informed and engaged with ongoing communications, webinars, and virtual events.

GIIN Report: Impact Investing Decision-making

Last month the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) published a new report, Impact Investing Decision-making: Insights on Financial Performance. The report explores the increasing sophistication with which impact investors are making decisions. The report finds that impact investors are applying a multi-dimensional approach to decision-making, adding factors such as impact objectives and impact risks alongside traditional decision-making factors like financial return and liquidity constraints.
