Oikocredit Canada Support Association (OCSA) is led by a volunteer board of directors responsible for carrying out Oikocredit's grassroots education and outreach initiatives. The directors come from diverse fields and bring immense experience to the board.

Though we know them professionally through their work, today, we dig deep and ask them some informal questions to get to know them better and learn more about their likes, passions and other areas of interest. Today we speak with Vaishali Dassani director of OCSA and currently working with Oceana Canada. Learn more about her work and passions.

How did you find out about Oikocredit?Vaishali Dassani
I applied for a part-time job opening as a program manager with Oikocredit and then later joined the board.

What is the most challenging and rewarding about working at Oikocredit?
The challenge – is to communicate during times of so many internal and external changes. The reward – working with passionate board members and the Oikocredit team.

How do you make your day productive - habits, apps, or tricks?
I start with my to-do list, and in-between coffee breaks, reading short articles or listening to podcasts makes my day.

What is your idea of the perfect vacation? Or What book have you read recently?
Sun, Sand and Sea is the perfect vacation. I just finished reading Educated by Tara Westover. An amazing book that celebrates the power of education.

 Who inspires you?
My dad – his positive attitude and his will to never give up motivates me.
